A Grand Opening in Kamianets-Podilskyi!

On August 18, 2023, we hosted the grand opening for a brand new Life Center in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Ukraine. Three years ago, Pokrovsk became our sixth Life Center, but due to the war, it became temporarily inactive. However, the work of God is unstoppable. Irina, who previously was a volunteer at the Pokrovsk Life Center, left due to the war and is now living in Kamianets-Podilskyi…and became the Director of the new Life Center. We are so excited to welcome her to our staff team!

When Ira was 17 years old, she underwent a procedure of inducing labor to terminate the pregnancy since it was too late for an abortion. This decision was made due to the lack of support and fear that her loved ones would turn her away. As a result of the procedure, the baby did not survive. After the incident, Ira was not able to become pregnant anymore. However, together with her husband, they decided to adopt their now daughter and raise her with all the love Ira’s first child was never able to receive.

Ira wants to help girls in the same situation she was once in.

The team of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Life Center currently consists of 8 people, 2 of which are refugees from Pokrovsk. The staff began meeting with clients even before the official opening of the Life Center. As of today, two babies have been born (on the 9th and 16th of August) at the Life Center, and the Life Center now supports 17 clients, 10 of which are pregnant.

Attendees at the grand opening ceremony included:

  • Deputy Head of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Kamianets-Podilskyi Myroslav Smotrov

  • Head of Women’s Consultation Dzenislava Tsuglevych

  • Head of Children’s Service Liliya Bevz

  • Director of SOS Refugee Help Center Anatoliy Kovalskiy

  • Cofounders of METALAB Anna and Tetiana Pashynski

  • Head of the Spiritual Council of the City Pastor Volodymyr Chornopyskiy

  • Secretary of the Spiritual Council of the City Pastor Sergiy Chornopyskiy;

  • And many others!

Save a Life International looks forward to serving all the mothers that can now receive support and love in Kamianets-Podilskyi. This is a wondrous story of the immeasurable ways of God that we cannot predict.

Sincere congratulations to the team of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Life Center on an official opening!
