SALI Funds a New Neo-Natal X-Ray Facility
On Saturday, April 1, we celebrated the ceremonial opening of a new x-ray room at the Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Kyiv. Save a Life International was able to partner with the institute to at last open its new facility. The institute is the main scientific and practical institution in Ukraine in the field of maternal and child health care. It was founded on March 10, 1929. Now, 276 scientists and 162 practicing doctors work there, saving the lives of newborns every day.
“Cooperation between the Institute and Save a Life International began in August 2022. Our Institute purchased new x-ray machines on its own, but we did not have the funds to repair the premises and connect the equipment. This is where partners from Save a Life International helped us. We received $15,000 for the renovation and were able to finish all the work in March 2023. I am grateful to all the sponsors and friends of Save a Life International, because thanks to you, we can now conduct high-quality research on the new premises."

The repair and equipment of X-ray rooms required special conditions to ensure that all radiation safety conditions were met. The work was carried out from August 2022 to March 2023. Now, thanks to the fruitful cooperation between Save a Life International and the institute, Ukrainian newborns will be able to quickly receive research results in comfortable conditions.
