Nadiya's story from Rivne

Nadiya 33 old woman came to our Life Center Rivne in December 2023.  The end of 2023 was a crisis for her. First, Nadiya found out that she was pregnant, although she and her husband had not planned this pregnancy, but decided to keep the baby and give birth. When Nadiya was admitted to the hospital for observation, she received the terrible news that her husband had disappeared without a trace in the war. The shock of the news forced her to seek help. Although Nadiya considered herself a strong person, she clearly understood that she needed support.

Nadiya learned about the Life Center from her friend Nastya. Nastia had once received psychological support at the center because she had experienced a pregnancy loss. She shared with Nadiya a place where she could get help and support.

When Nadia came to us for the first time, we talked to her for more than two hours. We talked about her husband, and her pregnancy, so unexpected then and so welcome now, because it was the only thing left of her beloved. They talked about her trips to her husband and how she was not afraid to go to him, almost at all. However, when Nadia became pregnant, everything changed, she was so worried about this new life developing inside her that she did not go to see her husband for the last time (of course, she did not know that this was the last opportunity). When she learned about the course “The Miracle in Me”, she was happy to join the group, because for her it was not only about knowledge but also about peace of mind and support, which she was missing.

In addition to training and emotional support, Nadiya received humanitarian aid in the form of clothes for pregnant women, food packages, and many other things for her children. She also made friends at the center and looks forward to meeting them every time.

After giving birth to a beautiful baby girl Ellia, one of our volunteers helped her with the child's care. Nadiya learned how to change diapers, take care of her child, and was able to recover from the birth. Nadiya stayed at the volunteer's home for seven days, as she needed a reliable person to be with her. She is very grateful for the help and the time with our Life Center team.

Nadiya once said that if it wasn't for Life Center Rivne, she wouldn't even know where she would end up and whether her baby girl Liya would have been born.

A center like Life Center should exist because it helps many people and will help many more.
