A Story of Hope, Resilience, and Community Support

Do you remember the mother in crisis we were raising funds for throughout October, who was on the verge of becoming homeless with her two children? We’re thrilled to share that this determined young mother from Chernivtsi has now moved into a long-term rental home with her three children!

This milestone represents a turning point for her family, made possible through the kindness and generosity of donors, local churches, and volunteers who worked together to provide a safe, stable place where they can finally settle.

Valya’s journey hasn’t been easy. After her stay at the women’s shelter ended on September 19th, she faced the urgent need for a home that could accommodate her family. The Life Center team in Chernivtsi sprang into action, arranging temporary accommodations while the finishing touches were completed on her long-term rental. With few immediate housing options, we contacted a local pastor who kindly offered two available rooms in a shared home for displaced families. Despite shared space challenges, other residents welcomed Valya and her three children, providing a safe “bridge” until her new home was ready.

Volunteers worked side-by-side to prepare the space, ensuring that Valya’s new home was clean, warm, and filled with everything her family would need to settle comfortably. Today, Valya and her children have a stable place they can call their own, and with it, the opportunity to build a new future together.

This would not have been possible without the compassion and support of everyone involved. On behalf of Valya and her children, thank you to all who made this new beginning possible. Because of your generosity, they now have a safe and welcoming place to call home.
