Marina’s Story
Marina Kovaliova, a 41-year-old mother of 13-year-old Kyrylo and 7-month-old Zakhar, faced severe domestic violence and struggled with alcoholism. Despite attending church and participating in programs like "Learn and Earn" at Life Center Lviv, she remained trapped in a toxic relationship with her abusive partner.
October 21 Marina called Life Center volunteers Miriam and Tomas, seeking urgent help. The team found Marina injured, intoxicated, and living in inhumane conditions. With immediate action, they provided temporary shelter, coordinated with local authorities, and ensured medical care for baby Zakhar, whose health issues required urgent attention.
The Life Center secured a place for Marina and her children at a local shelter and have found a specialist to address her addiction. She also received material assistance, including food, clothes, and baby essentials. Throughout her recovery journey, the team continued emotional and spiritual support, helping Marina rebuild her life.
Today, Marina lives apart from her abuser, maintains sobriety, and actively participates in Life Center programs. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized on December 1, 2024.
