Choosing Hope: Svitlana's Journey with Save a Life International
Every day, women are confronted with daunting decisions, often amidst challenging circumstances. The loss of loved ones, support, and uncertainty about the future is a heavy burden for pregnant women. At Save a Life International, we stand as a source of hope for these women and their babies.
“My husband died in the war a month ago, I am pregnant and I don’t know how to survive this pain. I don’t know how you can help me, but since I hold this phone number in my hands, it means I have to call”
Svitlana reached out to the Life Center in Rivne, seeking help. Her husband had tragically lost his life in the war just a month prior, leaving Svitlana pregnant and grappling with unimaginable pain. "I don't know how to survive this pain," she confided to Olga Babchanik, our director at the Rivne Life Center. But reaching out, holding onto that hotline number, she made the courageous step toward seeking help.
While no words could erase Svitlana’s pain, we were determined to stand by her side, offering support for both her and her unborn child. With your donations, our hotline remains a lifeline for women in crisis, ensuring that help is available whenever it's needed.
Now Svitlana comes to all Life Center classes, completes all homework, and tries to join all the events we organize at the Riven Life Center. After the last photoshoot, which the LIfe Center's volunteers organized for the girls, she wrote the following feedback in our group: "Looking at these photos, for the first time since my grief, I felt beautiful and happy and I want to live." For us, this is a great testament that our work is not in vain, and that we are not just helping to solve temporary problems, we are helping women return to life.

Her resilience and determination inspire us, and we are honored to stand by her side, offering support and assistance through our Life Center. It is a privilege to be entrusted with the opportunity to serve women like Svitlana, providing them with the resources, guidance, and compassion they need during challenging times.
