How Your Support Saved Oksana and her baby boy

Because of the steadfast support from donors like you, pregnant mom Oksana was able to seek help from the Life Center in Chernivtsi. Your generosity enables our Life Centers to provide assistance to those in need. Oksana’s family was in a tough financial situation, but she made the brave decision to keep the baby. During her pregnancy, she received material and spiritual support in the Chernivtsi Life Center.

However, an unexpected turn of events occurred during childbirth. When her son Volodia was born, lung defects were discovered, necessitating an urgent operation to remove part of his lungs. Since such surgeries aren't performed in Chernivtsi, they were referred to Lviv. Oksana found herself alone in a new city, in a hospital without money or acquaintances. But your generous contributions changed everything. As soon as she arrived in Lviv, the director of our Life Center in Chernivtsi urgently contacted the director of the Life Center in Lviv and provided Oksana's phone number and the hospital address. On the same day, volunteers from the Lviv Life Center arrived, bringing much-needed products and necessities for the mom and baby, such as diapers and hygiene products.

The doctor reported that the surgery to remove one of the boy's lungs was successful, and he was on the road to recovery. However, there was a pressing need for special catheters unavailable at the hospital. Oksana, the boy's mother, lacked the financial means to cover the expenses. Save a Life International stepped in, covering all treatment costs.

For two weeks, volunteers from the Lviv Life Center visited the mom in the hospital. When she was discharged, the Life Center director Natalia Kolesnik together with her husband Dmitry drove to the hospital and took her to the train station to Chernivtsi. Throughout her stay in the hospital, the SALI team prayed in churches with the volunteers. God heard our prayer, and the boy quickly began to recover after such a difficult operation.

After returning to Chernivtsi, Save a Life International continues to support this family. Oksana receives formula and diapers for the baby. Our Life Center paid for transportation, medical services, shipping, medicines, and hygiene products.

This heartwarming success story is a testament to the life-changing impact of your donations. Your generosity has transformed lives and brought hope to families facing unimaginable challenges. Thank you for making moments like these possible.
